We offer a range of play and youth services for 0-18 year olds. These operate out of Kirkby Park Community Centre, Vernon Road, Kirkby in Ashfield.
The Inclusive Group Youth Club is for young people aged 10-16 with disabilities and without disabilities. We meet every Monday night from 6-8pm.
We do activities around a different theme each half term. Activities include pool, table tennis, playstation, art and craft, sport, cooking and trips.
Subs for the group are 30p, which goes towards activities and trips. We also have a tuckshop, which serves snacks free from E numbers. We only serve things in our tuckshop that all our members can eat, to make it fair for all.
To come along, you must bring an Inclusive Group consent form signed by your parent, guadian or carer. You can download one, or contact the Community Centre to get one.

The Kirkby Trust have recently received funding from the Children’s Fund to run a parent participation project.
During our time working with children and young people we have observed that many of these complex issues are tied up with the whole family and the parents/carers of the children and young people are crucial in these issues and their resolution. We believe that working with parents/carers will positively benefit the children and young people that we work with immensely.
Over the next 12 months until March 08 we will be carrying out a piece of research to look into barriers to engagement and parent participation. In this time we will engage with parents/carers, schools and other agencies to see what is possible and the best ways of working – which is more important than running something ineffective and that has not been fully considered and thought through. We believe that this would be the best way forward to enable us to identify appropriate ways of working.
We hope that the outcomes of this will be:
· Improvement in collaborative, multi-agency working with parents/carers.
· Parents/carers feeling more confident and valued.
· Parents/carers empowered to participate more fully in schools and the lives of their children.
· A clear plan of work with parents/carers into the future.
· Young People having more secure home environments and benefiting from their parents/carers playing a fuller part in their lives.
Our Parent Participation Officer is Corrina Brown.
The project is funded by The Children’s Fund
Nottinghamshire Children’s Fund commission services that work with vulnerable children and young people aged 5-13 and their families. Our aim is to encourage children and families to participate in developing services and to provide services that intervene early and prevent young pelple from becoming vulnerable.
