Relief Hostel Support Worker
£7.84 per hour
£27.50 Sleep In allowance where appropriate

We require Relief Support Workers to cover for staff absences such as annual leave, training and sick leave at our hostel.  The amount of work available varies and can’t be guaranteed but if you have an understanding of the issues facing homeless young people and some spare time, read on!

The hostel provides accommodation and support with 24 hour staff.  At night staff provide a sleep-in presence and are there to respond to emergency situations.  During the day Relief Staff will be expected to deal with routine duties such as telephone calls, managing the building and ensure everyone’s Health & Safety, deal with any resident issues or enquiries and keep appropriate records of the day’s events.

Ideal candidates will have enthusiasm, a positive outlook and the ability to remain motivated when working in challenging situations.  Good literacy and numeracy skills are required, together with basic computer skills.  We need people who are able to work flexible hours, weekends and at short notice if necessary.  Further requirements for the post can be found on the Person Specification.

How to apply:

Take a look a the Job Descripton and Person Specification.  If you’re still interested and believe you have the skills and qualities we’re looking for, complete an application form and return it, preferably by email, using the address at the end of the form.  Please don’t send a CV as these will not be considered.
